Blackcore® Technologies Launches FLEX Range of FPGA servers, purpose built for electronic traders utilizing more complex FPGA configurations outside of typical server capabilities.
As FPGA usage has increased in popularity for electronic trading the FLEX Range of servers aims to bring clients new capabilities related to FPGA use cases not previously possible in the existing Blackcore range, or traditional server platforms.
BRISTOL – 02 May 2025 – Blackcore® Technologies, a leading manufacturer of high-performance, reliable, overclocked servers, today announced it is diversifying its growing range of products with the launch of the Blackcore Technologies FLEX Range.
The range carries the exceptional tuning and performance enhancements, as well as enterprise features that clients have come to expect of Blackcore servers, including built-in liquid cooling technology, a focus on low latency, and out of band management and monitoring.
The FLEX Range is initially debuting with one server, the FLEX 3100-SX+, which aligns a high core count with up to four FPGAs for the ultimate electronic trading platform.
“We are extremely excited to launch this new range built for FPGA solutions. The first system hosting up to 4 double-width FPGA cards was a wish-list item for some of our strategic clients that kept popping up,” said James Lupton, Chief Technology Officer of Blackcore Technologies. “It seemed that whilst other options might have existed in some capacity, none had the design quality or reliability that our clients have come to know Blackcore for.”
Introducing the FLEX 3100-SX+
The new FLEX 3100-SX+ boasts a 60 Core Intel Xeon w9-3595X CPU, available both overclocked or stock, up to 1TB of DDR5 RAM, and up to 8* SSDs.
The system can hold up to 4* Double Width FPGA cards, up to 225W each. Micro-USB connection is provided for each card.
The system can also support a 5th single-width card for additional network IO.
The system features two 2000W redundant power supplies (PSUs), one powering the underlying system components, and the second dedicated to FPGA power and cooling.
